County Swim Meet at GA Tech

    Good evening, Blazers!

I wanted to follow up with all of the parents regarding the Count Meet at Georgia Tech on July 10-11.  We have received some follow up questions and concerns, so we felt that it would be best to address them with everyone through email.

Let me first clarify by saying that the Blazers did NOT make the rule of no parents for this meet.  This is a rule that is being enforced by GA Tech.  We would love to have all parents there to support our swimmers, but we have to comply with the GA Tech rules if we want to participate in the County Meet.

If your child is swimming, we will make sure that we have a Coach meet them at the door where you will drop them off or another assigned area.  At no time will your child be walking around inside by themselves.  We haven't been told how many Coaches we can bring, but we will bring as many as they will allow to help with this concern.

If you feel like this is something that you and your swimmer are not comfortable with, then we fully support you but need to know ASAP!  Coach Christy will be working on the list of swimmers and it will help tremendously if she knows ahead of time if a swimmer won't be participating no matter the reason.

We know this is different and not the best way to end the season, but we feel like we can still have a great County Meet and ensure that all of the swimmers are safe and well taken care of while at GA Tech.  We MAY have the opportunity to have parent volunteers, but that is not something we will know until closer to the meet.  Each parent will need to make a decision on their child swimming based on the assumption that the parent would not be able to go inside with them.

Lastly, we have extra Spirit Wear!  We will have it for sale at the concession stand at the next two swim meets.  Please come check out the t shirts and caps!  If you haven't picked up the Spirit Wear that you ordered, please come to the Concession Stand on Thursday and it will be there for you to pick up.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!

    Thank you,

    Marla Peoples
